In the short term it isn't a major issue, I reckon 2400 dpi will be fine in most cases for 120 and 135 but there will be times that I want the higher resolution and as it stands I feel the VueScan software is not 100% operational on my machine. It is fine on default settings and I know the little V300 can handle 4800 dpi (and higher for that matter) but why can't VueScan? When I came back it was still locked up and the VueScan software was not responding. I wondered if it was taking time to compile scanning information so I left it be. However if I try to scan with VueScan at anything above 2400 dpi the software locks up. The thing is that I also scan 35mm film negative with it and the Epson software copes perfectly fine at all resolutions. This scanner is not designed specifically to scan MF film and even with the frame I have made out of cardboard the Epson software will not scan it at all.

I have just bought VueScan so that I can scan 120 negatives with my Epson V300.
